Indiana Tech Warrior eSports kicked off the 2017 – 2018 season for League of Legends by participating in the American Video Game League: College eSports (AVGL) League of Legends Championship. Warrior eSports contributed two teams for the tournament: Indiana Tech Orange and Indiana Tech Black. The championship consists of over 100 teams all competing in various divisions for the championship. IT Orange was placed in the Bloodthirster division, and IT Black was placed in the Frozen Heart division.
With the end of the season group stages complete, Indiana Tech Orange was nearly unstoppable by finishing with a 10-1 record! IT Orange tied with the Cougars of Columbia College Silver, resulting in a best of one match tonight (9/29/17) to decide the winner of the tie. Indiana Tech Black finished their group stage with a record of 3-7.
The AVGL Championship continue this Sunday (10/1/17) to begin playoffs to decide the final teams that will compete in the AVGL finals. If IT Orange advances to the final match of the AVGL Championship, then the team will compete on-stage at the 2017 DreamHack LAN convention in Denver, Colorado! DreamHack is one of the largest LAN tournaments worldwide that features various eSports tournaments and events.
